After marriage to Philip Winter (GHS '69) and graduation from American University, I worked as a graphic designer and art director for thirteen years at local DC and Bethesda ad agencies.
After our second child was born, I stopped working full time and concentrated on raising children and doing volunteer work with school and community organizations. Later, I worked in the school system part-time and took computer graphics courses. I then returned to my original field and worked as a marketing coordinator and graphic designer with a real estate company until my retirement in 2009. Afterward, I helped my husband with his commercial real estate tax consulting business for five years. He still does consulting work on a part-time basis and we both help babysit our three grandkids. Philip and I both enjoy doing local historical research, and I am a member of the Clarksburg Historical Society.
Despite all the changes and growth in Clarksburg, we still live on the remaining 10 acres of my parents' farm, not far from the town center.
